Creating your own winter container garden is simple;
Follow the guidelines below or get a head-start by using one of our pre-made inserts.
If your front door containers are frozen, you can try thawing them by pouring hot water into them or if possible move them indoors for a couple of days.
then you can recycle your old soil;   (cut back your plants to soil level)
Pop into our garden shop and pick up an insert from us,  either premade or create one yourself.
We make our winter inserts by adding a combination of SAND & OASIS’ to fill the container then you insert a different greens into the container & make as full as you like…  Water well so OASIS and container can now freeze up.
Mix and match textures from winter greens. We have white pine, Frasier fir, boxwood, cedar, etc., & winter holly.  Use strong, thick branches for height, and floppy branches for flow.
Add height and interest with branches, pinecones, birch poles, berries, or dogwood or lotus pods etc .
Add lights if you want
Protect from heavy snow fall, or shake snow free after a storm
We take custom orders for winter arrangements, centerpieces and wreaths.
Winter insert pieces are made from natural materials then have decorated to your liking.

DECK’d our shelves out with Christmas tree & boughs, ….. falalalalalaaa

Amaryllis come in a variety of colours. They prefer bright to medium light and require very little water in the beginning and more as they grow bigger. The bulb can be replanted year after year with proper storage.
Poinsettias are brilliant once again this year – numerous sizes and prices, and some new colors.  Keep Moist and away from cold and drafts. Likes sunlight – native to Mexico.  Keep out of reach of house pets and young children – as poinsettia's toxicity is relatively mild.
Succulents & Cacti  come in and select from many different varieties; sizes, shapes, flowers and textures.  Do not over water - likes sunlight and warmth .
Holly have simple, alternate glossy leaves, frequently with a spiny leaf margin. The inconspicuous flower is greenish white, with four petals.  The small fruits often referred to as berries  range in color from red to brown to black, and rarely green or yellow.  The fruits ripen in winter and thus provide winter colour contrast between the bright red of the fruits and the glossy green evergreen leaves. Hence the cut branches, are widely used in Christmas decoration. The fruits are generally slightly toxic to humans and pets.

Forcing INDOOR Bulbs  With a little planning and preparation, you’ll be enjoying freshly bloomed paperwhites, amaryllis, and hyacinth during the winter freeze!   ‘Forcing’ a bulb essentially means coaxing it into producing a shoot, stem and flower outside of its regular environment and schedule. It’s also easier than you might think.
Indoor centerpieces for the Holidays consist of a short vase with an oasis block, using different colours and textures of short branches of greeneries;  add any type of addition natural woodsy item like pinecones, red berries, blue berries,  candle, dogwood or willow branches etc,

Outdoor Winter / Christmas outdoor containers similar to an indoor centerpiece only on a much bigger scale of greenery branches used and bigger dramatic or natural décor like birch poles or driftwood or a lantern will add even more eye appeal.  Sparkly branches, glittery pine cone along with Bows when added to your Outdoor or indoor planter can give it more holiday feel ….
Come down and see us;  use your own crafty talent or request a traditional or custom made Christmas wreath or container designed for you………
