Mid Summer Plant Care

Hey! We are halfway through August and the summer weather is here! I am enjoying working in my yard, finishing up some projects and planning for next year.
I have had to water alot more in the last couple of weeks. At this point, annuals in containers are very root bound and are needing alot of water. Fertilizing once a week will help them to perk up.
Shrubs are going to need some watering as well. They have become used to alot of water since spring and will need to be kept watered. It is best to water deeply and less often. Newly planted trees and shrubs will need some extra in this heat. Especially Hydrangeas!
It is time to fertilize evergreens for the last time. After this they need to settle in for the winter.
Finally, enjoy this beautiful summer weather. I am!
